4:44 pm - LJ now in FRIENDS ONLY flavor

Yes, the time has come for my LJ to be friends only. If you're not on my friends list but want to be, please comment here. But if I don't know who you are, you most likely will not be added. I'm sure you understand why. ;)

3:29 pm - My dad finally got his tattoo
For as long as I can remember, my dad has been super-critical of people with tattoos. Whenever he has seen someone with an obvious tattoo, he'd curl up his face in disgust and proclaim how "white-trash" and "disgusting" tattoos are. Well, in his retirement he has decided to change his mind and has finally admitted to always wanting a tattoo commemorating his service in the Vietnam war. On Valentine's Day, he finally went and did it. Here's the email he sent to me today:

Ok check out what your old man went and did! I waited 38 years too do this and it came out perfect, he put me on the front of his home page if you scroll down almost too the bottom of the page you'll see me, you can click on the picture's to enlarge them. The only thing is i never told him that i was a pilot, he didn't know that it had a four man crew oh well! Here's the web site www.tatguy.com Love Dad (hope you two like it)

Tattoo photos under the cut for your convenience )

Well, I'm happy for him. He looks so happy in the photo. :)

Edit: I'm making this post public so he can read it and the comments.

9:51 pm - Need your help - Bowling for kids
Thanks for helping me out to raise money for a great cause! Donate here!

I am excited this year to partner with Junior Achievement and Q13 FOX Cares by participating in the 2006 Bowling Classic! My bowling team at Key Bank hope to raise over $625 for the Junior Achievement program!

Do you know about the great programs JA offers to over 100,000 kids in Washington? JA inspires students to believe in their own potential by providing life-changing classes on personal finance and business. Many kids this year - over 10,000 - will even visit the Junior Achievement learning center for a day, where they will actually run their very own city. It's a completely unique experience for them, and one they will never forget. Check it out! Visit the JA website: www.jawashington.org.

As for me, I want to partner with JA and Q13 FOX Cares because I know that the best way to ensure a positive future for our kids is to invest in them when they are young. The "Hollywood Bowl" is a major fundraiser for these organizations. My part is easy - I pledge to raise at least $125 (along with 3,000 other bowlers!), and on the day of my bowling event, I throw on those classy bowling shoes and hit the lanes for two games. I would LOVE to blow out my pledge goal with a little help from my friends. It's easy to donate - just click on the link below to go to my own personal bowling website. I really believe in this and hope you will join me in bowling a "strike" for Washington kids.

9:27 pm - Doggie Obituary

Abigail Road Hall
1991-2006

Abbey was a pure-bred english bulldog born on a privately owned apple orchard in Sunnyside, Wash., July of 1991. She was the daughter of the award-winning english bulldog Chicken George. The Halls of Redmond, Wash. drove over the Cascades to pick her up and return her to her soon-to-be home of fifteen years.

Abbey's original name was "Fergie", named after the princess of Wales. Thomas Hall, her foster father, renamed her because he didn't want to be yelling "such a stupid name" out to the neighborhood when calling her back into the house from the yard. He named her after his favorite Beatles album, only appropriate with her being an "english" bulldog, of course.

Some of Abbey's favorite activities were pulling towels from the bathroom and shaking them ferociously, going for walks, playing catch with her tennis ball, sitting on the heat vents on cold mornings, falling asleep on the back deck on warm and sunny days, having her back and ears scratched, being visited by Grandma and Grandpa Anderson, begging for food, eating crumbs off of the kitchen floor, and being fed.

Abbey peacefully passed away the night of March 26, 2006 in her sleep due to natural causes. She was approximately 105 dog-years old. She survived by her foster mother Paula Hall, foster father Thomas Hall, foster brothers Daryl and Dylan Hall, foster sister Lauren Hall, and foster grandparents Loretta and Robert Anderson. Abbey will be cremated, cherished, and missed.
